More About Our Company

The Mental Girls podcast was born from the struggle of Alysha and Kim.

As young women from different backgrounds they found common ground in their struggles with mental health.  Your upbringing, social status, or financial situation doesn’t matter, we understand that depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts can impact anyone. After hearing the many stories of people who have struggled with depression and those who succumbed to those suicidal thoughts, from those who thought they had nothing to those with “everything.”  We wanted to lend our voice to those of you who are searching for support, for someone who understands. We help each other, we want to help you.

Join us.

Alysha – A 27 year old single mom to three beautiful daughters. I never completed college because I chose marriage and parenting. I have a history of depression, anxiety, PTSD and a newly revealed diagnoses of Disssociative Disorder. I am driven by my past willingness to survive beyond my suicidal thoughts. I want to help you do the same. Walk with us on The Mental Girls podcast.

Kim – A 21 year old grad student studying Psychology to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). My desire to help is born from personal experience with anxiety and depression, in addition to self harm. I saw this podcast as an opportunity to help others to fight stigma and give hope to others who feel like no one understands them. Having fought through suicidal thoughts and WIN drive me to live a full life and help others find their way. You are NOT alone, join us on The Mental Girls Podcast.
